Basics of Cognitive Decline for Older Adults
April 7 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Concerns about cognitive decline and brain health are among the most common worries as we age. While some changes in cognition can be a normal part of growing older, others may signal conditions that benefit from medical evaluation and early intervention. Understanding the difference is important. Dr. Stephanie J. Towns, Associate Professor, Training Director of the Neuropsychology Division, Yale School of Medicine, Dept. of Neurology will give a clear overview of terminology related to cognitive decline and provide insight into its most common causes. Dr. Towns will discuss when to seek evaluation and the range of professionals who assess and treat cognitive changes. Practical strategies that support lifelong brain health will also be explored.
